Have you ever stood at the bottom of a dark staircase, wishing you could see all the way to the top before you took a single step? That is life. That is faith. And that is exactly where God meets us.
Solomon did not write, "Trust in the LORD with the parts that make sense." He said all your heart. That means the worried part. The confused part. The part that keeps replaying what could go wrong. God wants all of it — surrendered, not just supervised.
Leaning on our own understanding feels safe, but it is actually the shakiest ground there is. Our perspective is limited. His is not. And the promise that follows? He will direct your paths (v. 6). Not suggest. Not advise. Direct.
You don't need to see the whole staircase. You just need to trust the One who built it.
